Since its founding in 1961, Hardee’s has built its position as one of America’s premier burger brands. From humble beginnings as a small chicken wing restaurant in Garland, Texas, Wingstop today is a boundless enterprise that continues to soar to new heights. It’s reach now extends to more than 1,000 restaurants worldwide, with locations across the United States, Mexico, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Wingstop Inc. quickly became a fan favorite when it first opened its doors in 1994. Their proprietary recipes, outstanding food, and superior customer service created a demand that could only be satisfied by more locations: So, in 1997, they began offering franchises. Today, Wingstop is one of the fastest-growing concepts in the country, attracting top entrepreneurs and operators with the drive and passion to own their own business.
Meet Our Team
Chief Executive Officer
Jack Kemp (center) is the founder and CEO of Phase Three Brands, an operator of Hardee’s and WingStop franchised restaurants. He founded the company in Tampa in 2013 and has grown the business to more than a thousand team members in eighty locations in Central Florida, Southeast Alabama, and Southwest Georgia. Jack is the president of the Independent Hardee’s Franchise Association and the recipient of Hardee’s top franchisee award for 2020. Prior to Phase Three, Jack graduated from the United States Military Academy and later Harvard Business School. His professional career started in the United States Army, with service in Germany, Kosovo, and Iraq. Select military awards and qualifications include the Bronze Star Medal, Airborne Wings, and Ranger Tab. After his military service, Jack worked in Boston in various finance positions including as the CFO of business unit segments for a publicly traded insurer. He is involved in various charitable endeavors, including organizing an annual Daddy-Daughter Dance in Tampa, serving on the foundation board for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and raising money for wounded veterans. Jack is married to Erin Kemp, and they together have three children Mary, Davis, and Lilly and a French bulldog named Biggie.
Chief Operating Officer
Pete Bedzyk (left) brings more than 30 years of restaurant experience to the Phase Three Brands team. His experience ranges all the way from server to company president and owner of multi-unit, multi-state casual dining chain Timber Lodge Steakhouses. His concept experiences run the gamut, including buffets, single-unit fine dining, casual, fast-casual, and of course quick-service restaurants. Pete’s proven track record of team building and accountability structures brings a tremendous value to the leadership of Phase Three Brands.
Chief Financial Officer
Bree Radford (right) brings more than 20 years of restaurant finance and accounting expertise to the Phase Three Brands team. She most recently served as CFO of a private-equity backed multi-unit developing franchisor, where she helped design and build operational and financial systems, as well as roll out and measure a new delivery platform. She previously served as VP of Strategic Implementation at Bloomin’ Brands, Inc and VP of Finance at Carrabba’s Italian Grill.
